Quote: Excuse me? EXCUSE ME? EXCUSE ME? Are you, sir, calling me a liar? Do you know who I am? I ASKED YOU IF YOU KNOW WHO I AM. I am Hal m*****fucking Niedzviecki. I have written nine books sir. NINE BOOKS. I am an artist. I have created. Can you name one single thing you have created? You, sir, are a destroyer. You, sir, are evil. You, sir, are nothing but a monster. You have offended my honor. (censored by Admin, threats are not allowed). For over 10 years, he has been lying. He has lied about Star Ray TV. I hope his mother sends him to jail.

Wow! you have a name Hal Niedzviecki wrote: I have written nine books sir. NINE BOOKS.
I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't find a company to publish them. Hal Niedzviecki wrote: I am an artist. I have created. Can you name one single thing you have created?

Re: Hal Niedzviecki's Post
I got a response from the Dickhead Hal Niedzviecki himself. You ask if I know who you are. My previous post was quite clear: a no-talent stumblebum who thinks he is SPECIAL. I also wrote that you have these delusions that you are a writer and a deep thinker. Your post is validating my points. Oh, Mister great writer of nine books, is the above post the best you can come up with? Seems you are too much of an asshole to address the issues and have resorted to name calling and threats. You are a liar, you have libeled me in one of your books. Either prove what you said about me in your book is true or fuck-off.

Re: Hal Niedzviecki's Star Ray TV Lies
Unbelievable somebody could come up with the garbage Hal Niedzviecki did. What sewer did he crawl out of?
A movie that we run on Star Ray TV comes to mind: A Star is Born (1937) starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. In this movie a small-town girl is ridiculed by her family for having dreams of Hollywood stardom. Against all odds she goes to Hollywood and becomes a big star. This movie has been around before "mass media's infiltration into all aspects of our lives." In 1937 there was no Internet and no TV just radio and theaters.
Hal Niedzviecki you are a moron. Who are you to tell people they can't reach for the stars? I think you are a toad that delights in dissing people because it makes you feel better about your own failure self.

Hal Niedzviecki's Star Ray TV Lies
Hal Niedzviecki has written a book entitled: Hello, I'm Special: How Individuality Became the New Conformity. The main premise of this book is in his own words: "because of mass media's infiltration into all aspects of our lives, everyone thinks they're Special." According to Niedzviecki you couldn't possibly be gifted and talented in a particular endeavor; you are a loser who thinks they're SPECIAL. One of the narratives Niedzviecki uses to advance his theory is a bunch of lies he concocted about me and Star Ray TV Here is his spew: Quote: Chapter : (RE)CREATING THE INDIVIDUAL

The Search for a Way In
Star Ray TV, Canada's first and only "low power" TV station, was the brainchild of Jan Pachul. Located in a rundown strip mall in east-end Toronto, the TV station was run on abandoned UHF channels (remember the upper dial you desperately spun in the hopes of turning grey static shadow into Batman or Rocket Robin Hood?). Pachul's idea was to serve Toronto's Beaches and surrounding community, and to try out an entirely new model of localized television. "You need a community station that can compete in the market and at the same time communicate alternative viewpoints," Pachul explains. It was under that premise that Star Ray in 2000 received an experimental license from the Department of Heritage to broadcast. Not long afterwards, however, the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), which is responsible for issuing licenses across the country, turned down a request for the license to be renewed. After negative interventions by, among others, The Canadian Association of Broadcaster, Rogers cable, CTV and CHUM/CityTV, the CRTC ruled that Star Ray was, in fact, in violation of the low-power television policy. Star Ray kept broadcasting anyway, and the CRTC threatened Pachul with a $20 thousand-a-day fine. At that point, Pachul demanded to see the low-power broadcasting regulations he was violating. The CRTC did not have a low-power television broadcasting policy. The commission backed off.
But Pachul couldn't keep Star Ray TV on the air. He soon ran out steam and cash. In a cluttered office illuminated by a single lamp, he spews conspiracy theories and vague programming ideas. He cites his planned monster-movie daily "Creature Feature" as an example of innovative television, and badmouths the "assholes" in Ottawa. Pachul started Star Ray because he had worked his whole life in various aspects of the TV industry and, after contemplating the offerings of Canadian television, became convinced "he could do a better job." He drags his hand through his unkempt hair. "I didn't want to be an activist," he says, "I just wanted to run a TV station."
Pachul couldn't think of a single reason why he shouldn't have his own TV station. Pop-culture aspirants aren't activists and radical, but people who just want in (think backyard wrestlers, Elvis impersonators). Pachul has no particular vision, no real connection to the community. Just an abiding sense that he should have his own goddamn TV station if he bloody well feels like it. His stubbornness took him all the way to a partial victory over the CRTC, which decided to back off and let him self-destruct rather than risk looking ridiculous for suppressing a channel with a reach of thousands and a viewership of, maybe, hundreds, under the guise of a non-extent policy. Some of the biggest companies in Canada lined up to speak against Pachul. What were they afraid of?
The Main-Gerrard Co-op would take great issue with Hal Niedzviecki's description of our building as a "rundown strip mall." The Co-op regularly spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on maintenance. They are one of the best landlords in the city. What license from the Department of Heritage? The Department of Heritage doesn't give out any licenses. We had and still do have an experimental license from Industry Canada. I am also a licensed amatuer radio operator. Niedzviecki makes it up while he goes along claiming the CRTC "turned down a request for the license to be renewed." There was no license to renew. In fact the CRTC declined our low- power UHF license application after they invited us to apply AFTER they had previously in 1998 turned us down for an exemption from the Broadcast Act. The CRTC never backed off as Niedzviecki claims. We went to a CRTC Kangaroo court at which I was found to be broadcasting in contravention of CRTC dictates. We again filed an application under the CRTC's new low-power community TV policy and then new CRTC bullshit started. Read this website and you will know the true story. More crappola from Dickhead Niedzviecki: "But Pachul couldn't keep Star Ray TV on the air. He soon ran out steam and cash." If this is true, why is Star Ray TV still on the air? Why do we have several websites and are a worldwide leader in Internet broadcasting? Why are we building a new broadcast center? More Niedzviecki lies: "He cites his planned monster-movie daily "Creature Feature" as an example of innovative television." Right, when did I ever plan a "daily" Creature Feature? How could I consider a Creature Feature program to be innovative when they have been around since the dawn of television? When did I ever talk to this asshole? I think he is taking bits and pieces from old Star Ray news stories and using them to create his bullshit fiction. Niedzviecki writes: "Pachul has no particular vision, no real connection to the community." Hey Niedzviecki, you have no connection to reality: what do you call Star Ray TV's Mission Statement or Viewer's Bill of Rights or all the people that wrote on behalf of Star Ray TV to the CRTC? How come we've been in the same location for 12 years with "no real connection to the community?" More bull:" His stubbornness took him all the way to a partial victory over the CRTC, which decided to back off and let him self-destruct rather than risk looking ridiculous for suppressing a channel with a reach of thousands and a viewership of, maybe, hundreds, under the guise of a non-existent policy." When did I "self-destruct" and what is this bullshit about "non-existent policy?" The CRTC came up with a low-power community channel policy in order to cover their ass and continue prosecuting Star Ray TV. Hal Niedzviecki is classic disinformation artist who throws out a few facts and uses these facts to weave his twisted fiction to support his bogus theories. I wonder about the other people in his book. To the other subjects in this book, has the same shit happened to you? Did this Niedzviecki character come up with bullshit stories about you to fit his "everyone is a loser" theory? Let us know. My own theory is that the real loser is Hal Niedzviecki who has these delusions that he is a writer and a deep thinker. His book is poorly written with many grammatical errors. Maybe next time Niedzviecki writes a book he should learn something about sentence structure. I guess it did require some thought to come up with the fiction he wrote. This Dickhead should read his own book. He thinks he is a "cultural critic" and SPECIAL enough to be an author and write a book. Hal Niedzviecki is the perfect example of whom he is trying to write his book about: a no-talent stumblebum who thinks he is SPECIAL. Individuals DO matter, you must have the hope of a better tomorrow, if you never try, how are you going to know if you can suceed? Always do your best, don't think you can't make it, maybe you can. It's better to fail than not try at all. In my case I was hitting 40 years old when I got the TV station idea and I didn't want any regrets when I got older. I actually know how to run a television station, and I thought; Why not? I'm 54 now and guess what? I don't have any regrets. If you are reading this because you searched for "Hal Niedzviecki" on the Internet and are considering buying his book, do me a favour, don't buy it. It is garbage.
