Audio Issue Fixed
We installed some equipment today that should fix the problem for viewers not receiving audio. I called a few viewers who had contacted the station regarding audio problems. They all now have audio.:D

Re: Audio Issues
I have an RCA converter box with the same audio issue. So long as the signal isn't impacted by weather, the sound from your station is the only problem I have with it. Did you have any problems with the RCA reported?

Re: Audio Issues
There appears to be a problem in our equipment that prevents some tuners mostly converter boxes from getting the audio. We are in the process of ordering new equipment to solve this.

Re: Audio Issues
I too have been having audio problems, tho don't know for how long. Was working fine sometime around Cnd Thanksgiving (kids watching the "train show"), but now I just get video.
I am using a:
RCA ATSC converter
model: dta800b1
man date: Ap 2011 (be1)
made in china for avc multimedia
Markham,ON.

connected to a Hitachi TV (2003 build date). On an average day I get 30+ channels, and a good day Pennsylvania!

Do not have another "tube" TV to check it on. The only things that have changed (in house) disconnected Rogers, upgraded Wi-Fi and new cell (4G), but I could not see those causing only an audio drop.

Is the exchange offer still in effect? The kids LOVE the "train show", but I would like them to hear the stories as well (have music playing while they watch).
Live near Danforth and Pape. I go down to the Beach(es) every little while, can I just drop in (office hrs with converter)?
busterbrat AT gmail, .
Much thanks. Keep up the shows!

Re: Audio Issues
Hi Barslater,

I just acquired a RCA 24 inch LED TV model RLED2431A. You're right, it has "very tinny sound." Star Ray TV audio works on it no problem. I'm afraid that you have issues other than the station.

I'm going to use the RCA TV at home and I'm connecting the audio to my stereo system.

Re: Audio Issues
hello and thank you for maintaining this station, I discovered it this past christmas
having grown to despise rogers I built my own antenna from wire coat hangers :D
mounted on the roof of my house near lakeshore and carlaw with co-ax connection
the reception is better and the content satisfactory :o
I am a local historian and love your street car memories program, art stuff and movies
alas I too am plagued by audio problem :?
I had a big old analog electahome tv with good stereo sound
got a homeworx dac when the digital came in, worked fine for awhile,
the sound on some of your shows came thru, others not :(
then the dac died and I traded it for another, it too failed soon after
I went out and bought a new 19" rca tv with very tinny sound,
it too does not get sound from your broadcasts
what can this be?

Re: Audio Issues
Hi Paul,

Please read the above info. We are actively working with the encoder manufacturer to solve the problem.

Re: Audio Issues
Hello. I live quite close to you (Danforth & Dawes). I must say that the upgrade to digital is great. I like your programming too.

My problem is that while I get great video, there is absolutely no audio. Any fixes you can think of ??

Problem Converters
Our broadcast encoder manufacturer is willing to test in their lab converters that have audio problems when receiving Star Ray TV. I will trade one new Electronic Master ATSC converter for a converter that has problems receiving Star Ray audio.
