We have doubled the available bandwidth for buffering Star Ray TV and SR Music. Star Ray is now running at 500k and SR Music at 97k.

Star Ray is now using Microsoft's new "Advanced Profile" video codec. You may be prompted to download this codec if it isn't on your system. This new codec noticeably improves our picture quality.

This new site will have tips on making TVants work. No data was lost during the upgrade but we have deleted non working channels, porn, and pirated channels.

We decided porn was not worth the hassle. The quality of the porn was poor, the same movies were run over and over again, and the channels were constantly buffering.

Pirated channels are deleted on sight. If you feel your channel has been deleted unjustly, please email me.

TVants DOES work with Windows Media Player 11 and Vista.

'TVants is a new streaming media broadcast software, very similar to the core technology of popular BT (BitTorrent). Star Ray TV can now have several thousand viewers on the Internet :!: Star Ray Internet TV is now running programming 24 hours a day. :D

You can download TVants from SRTV in two flavours:

1. TVants customized for the launch of Star Ray TV:

2. TVants customized for the launch of SR Music with special feaures so that it works with the http://music.tobroadcast.com website: http://tobroadcast.com/tvants_srm.msi

Downloading, installing, and executing SRTV TVants immediately starts Star Ray TV or SR Music depending on your choice of flavour. You must have least Windows Media Player 9 installed for it to work.

Sorry only a Windows version of TVants is available. TVants does run on Linux using "Wine." It is also possible to run TVants streams on VLC. Mac users, you are out of luck.

McAfee's SiteAdvisor gives Star Ray TV's TVants download a "Nuisance Score" of 0: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/tobroadcast.com/downloads/
This means our download is free of adware, spyware and other unwanted programs.

If you hit the search button in the TVants software you will find that as of September 26, 2007 the Star Ray TV tracker server: hive.tobroadcast.com is being used by 51 stations! It's like having a cable system on the Internet.
